Is Natwest phone insurance worth it?

Natwest offer different types of reward accounts for their existing current account customers. There are monthly fees for maintaining all of the Reward Accounts.

Their Reward Silver (£10), Reward Platinum (£20) & Reward Black (£31) accounts provide a range of insurance options including for mobile phones. Some accounts offer you a discount or a refund on a proportion of the fee if you pay in a set amount each month, but this varies between suppliers. 

We look into the Natwest Reward Black account phone insurance. To have this benefit, you will need to be an existing Natwest Reward Black account customer.

Does the policy include Worldwide cover?
  • Full worldwide cover after the warranty has expired.
  • No one trip can be more than 90 days duration, or 31 days duration for any trip involving Winter sports activities (optional extension).
Our worldwide cover goes with you, provided that this
is in line with current government guidance.
What can I claim for? Up to 4 approved claims for every 12-month period. Unlimited claims.
What does the Excess cost?
  • There is a £100 excess for each approved claim when
    your phone is replaced.
  • £50 excess for each approved claim when your phone is repaired.
  • Excess amount is dependent on the make and model
    of the insured phone.
  • The same excess amount will apply for either repair or replacement.
What type of gadget(s) can I insure? Devices with a screen size of more than 7 inches are not covered (e.g Samsung Folds). We offer cover for all types of gadgets including phones, laptops and tablets.
When can I cancel? The insurance is an integral part of the account benefits package and it can only be cancelled with the closure of the account. Can be cancelled at anytime.
