EE first to offer 4G roaming
Fresh from being voted the best all round network operator in the UK by RootMetrics in a study based on over 840,000 trials, EE have announced plans to offer 4G services to customers using their 4G mobile phones when travelling abroad. Initially France and Spain will be switched on, to be followed by the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and the US by the Summer.
Great news for EE customers, who will be offered the services for free, however, roaming charges will still apply for the actual use of the service for downloading etc. The typical charges will be £3 for 100 mb over a 24 hour period or a 200 mb bundle for £35 to use over a month.
The news is perfectly timed for those who are beginning to think of travel plans for the Summer.
