Apple Care+

Comparing AppleCare+
Apple now offers some form of protection for all its handsets.
AppleCare+ provides two levels of mobile phone protection, with its insurance policies also giving priority technical support for the iPhone.
While Apple devices are no doubt some of the best around, we've looked at how its insurance compares to our own.
What is AppleCare+?
AppleCare+ is insurance exclusive to Apple devices. You have numerous cover levels to choose from, which include normal benefits such as damage, breakdown, loss and theft. You can either pay monthly or take out its two-year policy to protect you for the life of a normal UK phone contract.
One slight drawback is that you can only take AppleCare+ cover if you activate it within the first 60 days of getting your phone. You'll also need to authenticate your device and run a diagnostic to ensure it's working correctly.
Is AppleCare+ worth it?
Like with any insurance policy, AppleCare+ gives you the peace of mind that your phone is protected, with the added benefit that if something happens, the maker of your device is responsible for repairing it.
We suggest that you consider the wider policy benefits, any exclusions and the cost to ensure that you're getting value for money.
We've compared the price of a two-year AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss policy against our annual Full Cover policy over two years for some of the latest iPhones. See below for the comparison of costs. Bear in mind that costs for different storage sizes will vary.

What type of phone insurance do you need?
Choosing the right type of mobile phone insurance is straightforward. You'll usually have a choice of plans with different cover levels.
"Policies with the highest levels of cover will cost the most, but it's important to choose a level of protection that suits you. Cheaper options may leave gaps in coverage, ultimately costing you more in the long run. Proper protection means peace of mind."
