What is Samsung Care+?

Samsung Care+ is an insurance premium available directly from Samsung when you purchase a new device.

There is a time limit of six months from your initial purchase where you need to have purchased the cover. Samsung Care+ is an option on top of your manufacturer warranty, protecting against various forms of damage, but excludes cover against loss.

Where can Samsung Care+ be purchased?

Samsung Care+ can be purchased as an add-on to your warranty at the time of purchase, or within the first six months. The insurance can be bought either from:

Samsung directly (at time of purchase or within the first 6 months of purchasing the phone).

Any other retailer (6 months from purchase to register your device and buy Samsung Care+).

Samsung Experience Store (within the first 30 days of the purchasing the phone).

What is the difference between Samsung Care+ from the Samsung Warranty?

Warranties are offered at the time of purchase of your Samsung phone.

Whilst both the Samsung Warranty and Samsung Care+ can cover you for 24 months, Samsung Care+ can also cover you for accidental damage, whereas the warranty only provides protection against mechanical faults.

When can I purchase insurance? At the time of purchasing your device, if you purchased from a Samsung Experience Store at the time of purchase or within 30 days from a store. From other retailers within the first 6 months starting from the date of purchase of the phone. Can be bought at any point within the first 36 months starting from the purchase date of the phone.

Does the policy cover second-hand phones? No cover for second-hand mobile phone Samsung phones. Cover for both new and refurbished Samsung phones (provided that refurbished phones have been bought with a 12 month warranty).

Can I insure the phone for someone else? Cover is only available for phones that are for personal use and that were purchased by the policyholder. We cover Samsung phones for:
  • Personal use
  • We also provide cover for phones used for business. (Check out our business policies).
  • We also cover Samsung phones that were bought as gifts.
When will the policy cancel? The policy will be automatically cancelled when:
  • The maximum 36 months of cover is reached.
  • The limit of two successful claims within 12 months of insurance is reached.

  • Cover will continue regardless of the amount of claims made on the policy. 
  • Customers can cancel anytime. 
What is the claim limit? Claim limit: Up to two claims in any 12-month period of insurance, starting from the date you buy the policy. Unlimited claims
What about excess?
Excess varies by series S and Note series (i.e. S22, Note21, S22 Ultra etc.) would have a £49 excess fee, if you have a Z Fold series phone, then its a £115 excess. No matter which policy you select. We provide flexible excesses on a range of Samsung Galaxy devices, so if you have a tight budget you might choose to lower your premium cost but having a higher excess in place.

Or if you feel like you're more likely to claim, then perhaps a higher premium cost but a lower excess for when you do claim would suit your needs.
Does the policy include Worldwide cover? Worldwide cover for up to 60 days Wherever you go in the world, provided that this is in line with current government guidance, our worldwide cover goes with you.
What is used for any repairs? Use of genuine Samsung parts for repairs. Use of genuine Samsung parts for repairs from a refurbished stock.
What type of replacement could I expect? Replacements will be from refurbished stock of the same or a similar make and model as the original. Replacement will be from refurbished stock of the same or a similar make and model as the original.
Will my claim be cancelled?
  • Authorised claims will be automatically cancelled after 60 days if the policyholder does not send his/her device for repair.
  • The claim will then need to be resubmitted from the beginning.
  • If your claim gets automatically closed due to the policyholder’s delay to provide the documentation required for his/her device in for repair.
  • We will be able to reopen and continue with its assessment, provided that the policyholder is going to send/has sent the documentation needed.
Are there extra costs for repairs? For malicious damage claims, repair costs are recovered from the person who damaged your Samsung phone. Cover for malicious damage is included at no extra cost.
