Top 5 technology conspiracy theories revealed.
The new Samsung Galaxy S7 and Edge S7
The new mobile phones from Samsung are to be launched on the 21st February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and if the rumours surrounding the launch are to believed then the new handset might well be a bit of a hit.
Samsung themselves have told us to "Get ready to rethink what a phone can do," of course they would say something like that in the hope of getting tongues wagging and to get maximum media coverage surrounding the launch.
The new phones are expected to have a really good battery life, using a 3,000 mAh cell, something that might make some iPhone users a little jealous, especially when an iPhone is getting towards the end of a 24 month contract, when a lot of iPhone users spend half their time with one eye out for a convenient plug to top up on juice.
Whilst the camera looks like having a fairly average 12.2-megapixel sensor it is rumoured to feature Britecell technology making it perform well in poor lighting.
Security on the new phones may well be enhanced by having an unlocking feature which uses the owners face to unlock – this is yet to be confirmed. Remember these are rumours at this stage!
There are a lot of reports that suggest the phone will be waterproof to the extent that it would survive a quick dip in a pool. This would be an amazing achievement and certainly it would reduce claims for phones dropped down toilets – although we wonder if anyone would want to use a phone after that kind of dip!
Barcelona is a wonderful place with loads to do, so if you happen to be there on the 21st February it might be worth popping down to the Mobile World Congress to see what the future holds for the mobile in your pocket.
