Everything you need to know about the OnePlus 6
The long-awaited OnePlus 6 boasts plenty of power, a premium design and an impressive amount of internal storage, bringing it in line with some of the favourite handsets on the market like the iPhone X and the Samsung Galaxy S9. Here’s everything you need to know about the firm’s new flagship phone.
New and improved design
The OnePlus 6 features a luxe, all-glass design and a large 6.27-inch display, creating a totally premium look that’s not dissimilar from the iPhone X.
The handset packs a quality screen too, complete with an AMOLED display that looks good even in the dark, and a 2,290 x 1,080 resolution - that’s got to look attractive.
The phone comes in three different designs; a glossy black finish, a matte midnight black and a silk white, so there’s something for everyone with this handset!
Although not strictly a new feature, many will be pleased to know that the OnePlus 6 has kept its 35mm headphone jack, unlike other models from competitors.
Not quite a drop in the ocean
If you’re known to be a bit clumsy with your phone, you’ll be pleased to know that the OnePlus 6 features a degree of waterproofing, meaning it will survive the odd spill or rain-soaked run - although that said, it probably won’t survive a quick dip in the pool!
It’s also worth noting that the OnePlus 6 comes with a screen protector already installed and a solid rubber bumper case for extra protection – so there’ll be no cracked screens here (we hope!).
Unlock your phone without any fingers
A handy new property of the handset, is facial recognition. It’s easy to set up, and allows users to unlock their phone via a face scanning device.
This is an addition to both pattern AND pin fingerprint scanning, so you can relax knowing your phone is as safe and secure as possible.
A dual camera system
The handset’s camera system features a dual rear array, allowing users to take impressive, portrait style shots. The dual camera is made up of one 16-megapixel primary sensor and one 20-megapixel sensor and the main sensor is a whopping 19% larger than the previous model, resulting in larger pixels and ultimately improved low light performance – great news for evening-time snaps.
The OnePlus 6 allows users to take impressive, super slow-motion videos with the new camera system that can capture up to 480 frames per second, meaning you can take your recording skills to the next level. You’ll also have the freedom to film such videos for up to a minute, and you can select the parts you wish to slow down. Lastly, the camera app is equipped with a new editing feature that allows you to cut down videos for a professional result.
OnePlus 6 - What’s inside?
Though the OnePlus phone doesn’t offer expandable storage, you can look forward to a hefty 256 GB of internal storage as standard.
Performance has always been a strong point with the OnePlus, and the latest handset is no different; the OnePlus 6 is powered by a Snapdragon 854 processor and boasts an impressive 8GB of RAM, so you can expect the phone to match other new flagship phones in terms of performance.
The OnePlus 6 comes with a 3,300mAh battery, meaning you’ll be able to charge up your phone to full pretty quickly. A Dash Charge plug also comes in the box and will replenish your battery from 0% to 60% in just 30 minutes.
