Mixed bag of results for Orange
Friday, October 30th, 2009Orange have announced lower than expected earning in the 3rd quarter of this year but at the same time reported the largest amount of new subscirbers to the mobile base in 3 years. A total of 257.000 new customers were added in the 3 months to September.
If these new customers just under 200,000 were contract customers which means their ratio of cuntrace verses prepay is now at a solid 41%.
With the iPone launching on Orange on 10th November there is potential for a good Christmas especially as over 250,000 people have pre-registered interest in the iPhone.
To continue the mixed bad of results Orange’s broadband arm reported a drop in subscribers of 55,000 this is despite the company offerng new pricing packages and speeds of upto 20 mbps. Their broadband base is now just under 900,000.
